My husband and I have been talking about this being the summer to get the lift done on the Jeep. We went out for dinner earlier and a Wrangler was in the parking lot with what we think is a 4″ lift. My husband wanted to know what size tire is on it. I wonder what someone watching would have thought with my husband on the ground looking at someones tires. The Jeep we were looking at was on 35′s and we think its a bit too much for us. The Jeep is going to be towed behind the RV and we’re looking for something that is going to be practical on the road yet gives us a bit more clearance for off road. We’ve finally decided we’re going to get an OME 2.5″ lift. It’ll work well for us because we’ll still be able to get the kids in and out of the car. With the Jeep going to be our toad it still needs to be family friendly since it’ll become our main car for when we’re on the road. When the kids are a bit older and can strap themselves into the car we’ll go all out.

I’ve become addicted to researching things for the RV and Jeep. Tonight’s obsession is planning the first trip; something both RV and Jeep friendly. I now have my heart set on the Jeep Jamboree in Moab at the end of October. Last year on our road trip to Las Vegas one of our detours brought us within an hour and a half of Moab and I think our Jeep knew that she was so close to the Mecca of 4wd experiences. We will have the kids with is and would be taking some of the easier trails for the time being. I figure we take the easier trails now and it gives us a great excuse to go back and take some of the rougher trails when they’re a bit older. I’m really excited about what the future holds for us. We have always shared a love for travel and adventure and being able to have the opportunity to share this with the kids excites me. I am looking forward to giving my children the chance to learn through experiences rather than just looking at pictures in a book. I’ll be traveling with my wonderful husband, two kids and my Jeep. Can life get any better?

Our family Jeep is about to get a new traveling companion, our family RV. The RV is a 32′ 1999 Georgie Boy. Since we’re not sure how we’re going to like the RV we’re starting with an affordable smaller one to ease us in. We are looking into what we need to do to tow the Jeep behind the RV and getting everything planned and set into action to pick her up in New York in May. Our good friends in Harrison that we prefer to call family are also purchasing their first RV and we will be going together to pick them up.

We are planning after the current contract to take some time off and go exploring the US with the kids. The RV will serve as a home to four and our office so we’re looking into options on setting up our mobile office. We are excited about the RV, the opportunity it gives us to travel and spend time with the kids and of course that our Jeep is the perfect car to tow. We have been looking at where we want to take the Jeep to find some real off roading, exciting times are ahead!

It’s getting to that time of year where all Wrangler owners that live in colder climates are itching to drop the top on their Jeep and feel the wind in their hair or in my husbands case the wind bouncing off his bald head. All Things Jeep is encouraging Jeep owners to drop their tops on May 9. You can take pictures of you and/or your Jeep and submit them to All Things Jeep to be entered in the contest to win one of five $50 gift certificates. If you send them a self addressed stamped envelope they’ll send you a free Go Topless Day bumper sticker.

Be sure to check out the Go Topless page on their website. They have a list of Jeep clubs across the globe that are participating in Go Topless Day. We’re so jealous there isn’t one near us! If anyone in NW Arkansas is interested in meeting up and playing in the mud or dirt on May 9 let us know!
