I had a really nice relaxing afternoon, just me, the Jeep, my camera and some gravel roads. My husband and I are toying with the idea of settling around where we are now and I’ve been out on the hunt looking for some land to build the dream home. We’ve hatched the brilliant plan of building a garage for the RV with a basic bathroom and living in that until the house is built.

I took a much needed break from the kids and took a drive out in the country looking at some lake front lots that are for sale. I stopped and took some photo’s of one lot and of course couldn’t resist taking one of the Jeep. It’s a shame this block turned out to be so small because it is definitely somewhere I could see my family living. The area we are looking at is around Beaver Lake in Arkansas.

I really should have known better than to get excited over the warm weather. My best friend and I have this running joke; Mother Nature has it out for her and due to association she is now ticked off at me. The weather has gone cold. Not only has it gone cold we had snow. I’ve been looking at the forecast and are under a freeze warning tonight. I’ve been watching the weather and for the next week there is going to be a lot of rain and high temps in the 50′s. It figures, the front window is fixed, the soft top has been fixed and as soon as that was done the weather went bad.

where's spring

Yesterday the temperature was in the mid 70′s, the sky was blue and another perfect day for going for a drive in the Jeep. As I sat out on my balcony with my cup of tea I was greeted by a beautiful site; the first signs of spring. The branches of the tree right outside our balcony is covered in little green buds and the grass on the golf course fairway is starting to turn green.

I couldn’t help but get excited and think about all the wonderful adventures our Jeep will take us on this spring and summer. The kids are a bit older this year and will be able to handle some moderate trails. Our little guy was just an infant last year so we were resigned to sticking to trails that were more dirt roads than trails. I love this time of year minus the tornado watches!

spring leaves

When you buy a Jeep you join a special group of people known as Jeepers; with this purchase comes a responsibility to acknowledge and wave to other Jeepers. Failure to wave takes away your Jeeper status and demotes you to the status of a wannabe.

I was convinced the Jeep wave was dead until riding in ours with my husband driving. He gets waves, I don’t and I find it frustrating. Why does he get waves and I don’t? Does the sun bouncing off his bald head make him easier to spot?

Its not the Jeep I drive, I drive a 2 door Rubicon so I drive a “real” Jeep and at first glance wouldn’t be perceived as a four door driving soccer mom. It’s not that my Jeep is hard to miss, its such a bright shade of red they can probably pick it out from the space station.

I don’t understand it but I really hope that the Jeep wave doesn’t die. I’ve always loved knowing there are other nuts out there like me that have a passion for their Jeeps.
