Yesterday the temperature was in the mid 70′s, the sky was blue and another perfect day for going for a drive in the Jeep. As I sat out on my balcony with my cup of tea I was greeted by a beautiful site; the first signs of spring. The branches of the tree right outside our balcony is covered in little green buds and the grass on the golf course fairway is starting to turn green.
I couldn’t help but get excited and think about all the wonderful adventures our Jeep will take us on this spring and summer. The kids are a bit older this year and will be able to handle some moderate trails. Our little guy was just an infant last year so we were resigned to sticking to trails that were more dirt roads than trails. I love this time of year minus the tornado watches!

We were really busy leading up to my husband’s birthday and he ended up with a store bought cake despite my plans to attempt and make him one. I hate to admit this but I have never baked a birthday cake. My daughter was recently diagnosed with food allergies to eggs and milk so for her birthday I will have to put on an apron and make one. I thought making a Jeep cake could be fun to try so I Googled “Jeep Cake Pan” and sure enough you can buy them on Ebay. I’ve got 5 months to practice and try to make something edible; I feel sorry for my poor family having to be the tasting guinea pigs.
When you buy a Jeep you join a special group of people known as Jeepers; with this purchase comes a responsibility to acknowledge and wave to other Jeepers. Failure to wave takes away your Jeeper status and demotes you to the status of a wannabe.
I was convinced the Jeep wave was dead until riding in ours with my husband driving. He gets waves, I don’t and I find it frustrating. Why does he get waves and I don’t? Does the sun bouncing off his bald head make him easier to spot?
Its not the Jeep I drive, I drive a 2 door Rubicon so I drive a “real” Jeep and at first glance wouldn’t be perceived as a four door driving soccer mom. It’s not that my Jeep is hard to miss, its such a bright shade of red they can probably pick it out from the space station.
I don’t understand it but I really hope that the Jeep wave doesn’t die. I’ve always loved knowing there are other nuts out there like me that have a passion for their Jeeps.
As all owners of soft tops I always look forward to the first topless day of the year. Today it got up to 79, the sky was clear and it was a wonderful day to drop the top and just go for a drive. My little guy and I thoroughly enjoyed our day today. We ran some errands then had a picnic lunch in the park. Tomorrow the weather is meant to be the same as today…perfect!
